Cost-effective Photovoltaics Research - A Summer School in Nairobi in 2007Back to summer school main page LecturersThe lectures, seminars, and laboratory training of the summer school will be given by the five lecturers below. All are experienced senior researchers and lecturers in the field of photovoltaics, whose different areas of expertise will allow them to give a well-rounded, comprehensive training on cost-effective photovoltaics research.
Dr. Ing. Sven BönischHahn-Meitner Institute, Berlin, GermanyDr. Bönisch works at the Department of Experimental Systems (department website, in German only).
Dr. habil. Thomas DittrichHahn-Meitner Institute, Berlin, GermanySince 2003, Dr. Dittrich has been engaged in research collaborations with the University of Nairobi through the Berlin-Nairobi Exchange. During a visit to Kenya in September 2005, he proposed the idea of this summer school. At the Hahn-Meitner Institute he heads the group "Extremely Thin Absorber Solar Cells" (group website) at the Department Heterogeneous Material Systems.
Dr. David M. MulatiJKUAT, Nairobi, KenyaDr. Mulati is Associate Dean of the Faculty of Science at JKUAT, where the summer school is being hosted.
Dr. Julius M. MwaboraUniversity of Nairobi, Nairobi, KenyaDr. Mwambora has been collaborating with Dr. Dittrich (see above) through the Berlin-Nairobi Exchange since 2003. He has already visited the Hahn-Meitner Institute twice and in 2003/04, two of his PhD students spent the academic year working in the group of Dr. Dittrich, which was also arranged by the Berlin-Nairobi Exchange.
