Project on Interactive Screen Experiments

Team

Karsten Markus (Project leader)
Mr. Markus is a teaching assistent in the Interactive Screen Experiments (ISEs) research group at the Technische Universität Berlin. He works with Dr. Jürgen Kirstein who invented ISEs. In 1998/99, he studied physics at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, from which he received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree. He heads the collaboration between the Technische Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Nairobi in implementing ISEs at the University of Nairobi.

Mario Konschake (participant of the Berlin-Nairobi Exchange in 2003/04)
Mr. Konschake is a physics student at the Freie Universität Berlin and has already used ISEs for his studies. In 2003/04 he is a Berlin-Nairobi physics exchange student at the University of Nairobi. Besides his studies in Nairobi he will test the ISE software on the computer systems in the Department of Physics as a first step in determining the feasibility of integrating ISEs into the curriculum there. He will also study the physics curriculum at the University of Nairobi and identify a course for which ISEs can be translated into English for the purpose of an initial pilot study. Mr. Konschake will be supervised by Dr. Kaduki.
